Collector Spotlight: Will Kalway
Preserving the Paul Stanley Legacy
Much of what we know today about Paul Stanley’s non-beer promotional work—from Blue Seal Bread and Calo Pet Foods to Stripe Toothpaste and Wisk Laundry Soap—exists thanks to the dedication of Will Kalway, who as a passionate young collector in the 1980's had an unusual an eye for American retail history.
While most original display units were lost, damaged, or forgotten after the company closed in the late 1960s, Will meticulously tracked down surviving pieces, original artwork, hand-drawn design sketches, and factory notes from Paul Stanley & Company. His relentless effort to document and preserve these materials has provided collectors, historians, and enthusiasts with a rare window into the artistry and process behind these motion masterpieces.
The content showcased on this website—including many never-before-seen designs and archival images—comes directly from Will’s personal collection. His passion ensures that the imaginative genius of Paul Stanley lives on, inspiring a new generation of collectors and design lovers.
We thank Will for not only preserving these incredible works, but also for sharing them with the world.
